College Plans
Essential Question - |
What education and skills are needed and beneficial to succeed in topics of study at the university level and in careers that you deem engaging and worthwhile?
The things that I need to be successful in my potential career choice in fire fighting, is that I would need a bachelors degree in fire science or Criminal Justice in order to rank up. As well as going into the fire academy, and at the same time I would have to get my EMT/PARAMEDIC certificate, at one of the Cal State schools . But i´m leaning more towards Cal state San Marcos (which offers those degrees and classes). In order to get on this path I would need to go through the steps that are on my ten year plan, which are; Get an AA degree in fire science at Palomar , and at the same time get my paramedic/ EMT cirt, then transfer to Cal State San Marcos, get bachelors degree in Criminal justice, graduate, then go into the fire academy, and finally become a fire fighter. My grades have some sort of a role in this process, I would have to get a 3.0 or higher to apply to the classes that I would want to take (minimal requirement to get into the fire program) (High school grades). The colleges that I plan on applying too are going to help me on my path, because the schools that I am applying to have really great fire science programs, as well as a good success rate. Such as how to vent fires, how section off burning buildings from other buildings, etc. The strategies that I would work on to succeed in this path of my choice is to do as many classes, ride along´s, and readings to become fully comfortable in this field of work, so that I can pile on knowledge on top of the things that I already know, to make things easier for me, as well as improve my chances to get paid more an rank up faster. The way that I´m able to learn this information is by actually doing the actions and listening to instruction at the same time (that´s how by brain works and learns the best/ quickest).
